Dear Madame President,
Dear Young BPW (for Spam-Reasons in
BCC)
Please find attached the Young BPW
Newsletter for March, and I ask you to forward this mail to all your young
members. Please note, that all your input is welcome for the next editions –
don’t hesitate to send me in your papers or mails!

Secondly, please read these words from Reeta Ahonen, the new Young BPW
Representative for
Dear Viktoria,
I heard about BPW from an
acquaintance of mine and I decided to find out more about it. At first I had
really not much of an idea what it was all about... Little by little I started
to figure it out and I really like the different opportunities BPW has to offer.
Now I'm also trying to find out ways to get more Young BPW's to join
us.
That is what my task is really about:
to inspire the young members to be active
both locally and nationally and perhaps even internationally
:)
With best regards from
Reeta Ahonen
Reeta, all the best for your “job” –
have fun, enjoy it. And for any questions, you have “colleagues” you can
contact!
Enjoy spring and the sun. And have
success and brilliant moments with your plans!
With my best
wishes,

Good to hear from you.
Please send me an article about young BPW Europe’s interesting events or

International congress. Also send me some interesting pictures of these events.
We intend to use the newsletter as a marketing tool to attract new members at
the conference..
Please keep in mind: this Newsletter issued along the
Congress will be a printed version. All in all, the Newsletter can be a
wonderful Marketing-Tool, we all can use – if we do send in materials. Please
check about any news from your country and mail this to me as soon as

BPW
Bale and BPW Weil: Candlelight Ceremony on March, 9th
2007
Thanks to the invitation of BPW Bale,
I joined the Candlelight Ceremony. It was a very very nice evening. And also we
did welcome three new Young BPW members for the Club Weil. To my eyes, the
wonderful thing is, that these Clubs, who are doing the Ceremonies together, are
member two different Federations: BPW Switzerland and BPW Germany. So this is a
very good example for border-crossing cooperation.

The
Unfinished Story of Women and the United Nations –
Download-Book!
The
Unfinished Story of Women and the United Nations covers more than
eighty-five years of history between women and inter-governmental organizations.
Unrecorded by history and untold by the media, this book recalls the success
story of women and the League of Nations and describes the unfolding history of
women at the United Nations for the advancement and empowerment of women,
especially in the 30 years since the First UN World Conference on Women in 1975
in Mexico City and up to the ten-year review and appraisal of the implementation
of the Beijing Platform for Action in 2005. This book revises the 2002
publication Engendering the Global Agenda:
The Story of Women and the United Nations, produced as the tenth
volume in the NGLS Development Dossier
series.

BECAUSE
I AM A GIRL, I MUST STUDY
A
father asks his daughter:
Study? Why should you study?
I have sons aplenty who can
study
Girl, why should you study?
The daughter tells her
father:
since you ask, here's why I must study.
Because I am a girl, I must
study.
Long denied this right, I must study
For my dreams to
take flight, I must study
Knowledge brings new light, so I must study
For
the battles I must fight, I must study
Because I am a girl, I must
study.
To avoid destitution, I must study
To win independence, I
must study
To fight frustration, I must study
To find inspiration, I must
study
Because I am a girl, I
must study.
To fight men's violence, I must study
To end my
silence, I must study
To challenge patriarchy I must study
To demolish all
hierarchy, I must study.
Because I am a girl, I must study.
To
mould a faith I can trust, I must study
To make laws that are just, I must
study
To sweep centuries of dust, I must study
To challenge what I must,
I must study
Because I am a girl, I must study.
To know right
from wrong, I must study.
To find a voice that is strong, I must study
To
write feminist songs I must study
To make a world where girls belong, I must
study.
Because I am a girl, I
must study.
