where she is heading Young BPW Pakistan, and is enriched by joining Congresses

Young
BPW up to 40:
There is amendment
No. 18 to the constitution proposing to rise the age of Young BPW up to 40.

Currently we say,
Young BPW are all women up to 35. Bundling the younger members, who started the
jobs and careers, who deal with the topic career/family. Usually, somewhere in
the mid-thirty the point of interest slowly changes and they grow out of Young
BPW. The proposal says, that Young BPW misses out the power of women going out
of Young BPW and joining BPW. This really does not match with our integrative
idea of Young BPW and BPW acting as daughter and sister. It is not desirable to
start a competition on workforce between both parts. It is recommended to think
about other ways and strategies to maintain a BPW Club young, vivid, active and
full with interesting members, willing to bring in their ideas – no matter, if
they are Young BPW or BPW.
Further, I really
feel that Young BPW would become less attractive for the “really” young
prospects in their twenties – with the youth
we would loose one of the true Young BPW
USPs!
Please
do tell your Delegates to disagree to this proposal. Young BPW is young and must
stay young!

Saturday 28th June, in the evocative Baia of Le
Grazie di Portovenere, in the vicinity of the 14th Century Conference Hall of
the Convent of the Olivetani, in the IV edition of the B.P.W. CUP
2008 award, organized by La Spezia section with the support
of the BPW – Europe, Chiara
Polita, President of the Section of San Dona of Piave, has emerged
the winner of the section of the BPW Europe – Young, for professional merit as
well as a scientific curriculum, gaining the upper hand over two young qualified
candidates from Germany and Turkey
During the evening,
guided by the president of the section Fidapa of La Spezia, Marisa Sergi, the
award was given to Chiara Polita by Enrica Bellini, the Finance Director of BPW
Europe. The prestigious prize, bestowed with a ceremony in the presence of
authorities as well as the general public is in its 4th edition and
is characterized as a recognition of women in public eye who distinguish
themselves for their leadership and professionalism.
As well as the BPW
Europe – Young section, kept for women of the BPW under 35, la BPW CUP has
rewarded other four women leaders in their own profession: two university
lecturers and two well known entrepreneurs.
A special award was
granted by the jury to a female poet representing all the women active in field
of the arts. During the award a show was also held under the care of Marisa
Sergi and Jenny Fumanti, dedicated to the memory of the personage of Lyda
Borrelli, well known actress of the silent movie, native of
Present, besides the
members of numerous section of the North Western District, the President of the
District Claudia Amerio, the previous President Marcella Desalvo, Ida Castagna
Bressan,( Sez. San Donŕ di Piave, North Eastern District), Rita Assogna
(BPW Germany, Club di Monaco di Baviera).
The award is the first
step towards the much auspicious collaboration with BPW Europa, began by our own
District with the participation of a panel at the XII European Congress
of Stoccolma held by the Society of the Section of
Ravenna Shawna Thompson Boni.
